What you need to make Banana Chicken Waffles with Honey Drizzle
Ingredients:
- Ground chicken
- Eggs (ASHLEY20 for 20% off)
- Bananas
- Grass-fed ghee (or butter)
- Raw honey (ASHLEYR for 10% off); Note: I recommend local or Manuka

Substitutions
You can substitute the ghee or butter for your animal fat of choice, although I do highly recommend ghee or butter with this recipe due to its slightly sweet and rich flavor.
How to make Banana Chicken Waffles with Honey Drizzle
Cook the chicken.
In a pan, sauté the ground chicken for just a few minutes. Do not overcook. If there are some raw parts left, that’s fine. The waffle maker will finish it off. The goal is for most of the meat to be cooked (when done, it should have a white color instead of pink).
Make the waffle batter.
Melt the ghee on your stovetop.
In a blender, blend the cooked chicken, melted ghee, eggs, salt, and banana.
Plug in and pre-heat your waffle maker.
Make the waffles.
With the batter, make as you would normal waffles. One batch yields 3-4 waffles.
When the waffles are done, top with 1 tbsp of ghee, and drizzle with raw honey (ASHLEYR for 10% off). Enjoy!
Tips to make the best Banana Chicken Waffles with Honey Drizzle
- When making the batter, make sure you blend it until smooth. No meat chunks should be left. You may find a few stragglers when you pour out the batter, so you may have to go through a few rounds of blending.

I’m sure it will change the flavor a bit but can you substitute ground beef for the chicken?

I don’t see why not. I have never tried it, so I’m not sure if the texture would be different, but it’s probably worth a go!
These were pretty good…I’d definitely make them again! There’s a slight taste of chicken, so I may add a little more honey or salt next time 🙂
Super yummy! Making them for the second time now and added some vanilla extract to the blender for some added waffle vibes.
“Best waffles ever!” – my husband I doubled the recipe, made them with melted butter, and took a queue from your recipe pic – I sautéed a few banana slices in butter until they were a little crispy and caramelized. OMG, so good! I also mixed the melted butter and honey together to make a syrup for the table, which made it easy for everyone to serve themselves from the waffle pile…Thanks for this fantastic recipe!
Flavor was great. They didn’t hold together well for me. Do you think adding Parmesan cheese would help melt it together?

Yes, cheese would help, however, the heat will pasteurize the cheese. If you don’t eat pasteurized dairy, another idea would be to add a tbsp or so of plantain flour. You can also try using 1/4 lb of chicken instead of 1/2 lb. And a note: these waffles are pretty flimsy. They don’t hold as together as waffles made with flour do, so removing them from the waffle maker carefully is a good idea. I’ll add a note about this to the recipe.
These are really good! We’ve made them multiple times and my toddler loves them. One question, what would be the calorie count on these?
