Beef organs are some of the most nutrient dense foods in the world. But do you have to eat them (in a conventional sense) to get all of these nutrients? No!
If you’re someone who is freaked out by the idea of eating organs, organ supplements are right up your alley.
Individual organs – usually beef organs – are desiccated (all of the moisture is removed and they’re dried out) and placed into capsules for nearly effortless (and tasteless) consumption.
The idea behind supplementing with organs is like supports like, meaning if one of the organs in your body is weak or has a deficiency, consuming that same organ from a happy, pasture-raised, grass-fed cow should, in theory, help strengthen that weak organ.
For example, if you come down with a lot of respiratory infections, beef lung may be a good choice for you. If you have urinary troubles, beef kidney may work well. Or if you have skin issues, beef cartilage may be what you need.
Heart & Soil Supplements is leading the way in providing these high quality organ supplements to the world. And if you’d like to try them to target a specific health issue, check out their stacks!
Their team put together supplement stacks that target different health issues – things like allergies, autoimmune issues, exercise performance, fertility, libido, heart health, prenatal health, thyroid health, sleep, weight loss, and more.
If you choose a stack and would like know what nutrients you’re getting while taking that stack, I got you. I completed a nutrient breakdown for each individual Heart & Soil organ supplement and nutrient breakdowns for each of their stacks.
In this blog post, you’ll find a breakdown for each organ supplement in Heart & Soil’s “Histamine Intolerance” stack, as well as a summary for the entire stack. I included the following information for each item:
- organs that are found in the supplement
- weight of the organs per bottle*
- weight of the organs per serving*
- noteworthy nutrients (nutrients found in high amounts in the supplement)
- nutrient breakdown per serving (for the organs I could find**)
*Amounts have been confirmed with Heart & Soil.
**If a supplement has an organ that I could not find a nutrient breakdown for, I still included a nutrient breakdown for the supplement, but left the organ I could not find out. I don’t love that I had to do this, but this way, you’ll know that you’re getting the nutrients that are listed at the very least.
Note: While researching the nutrients for each organ, I was hoping to find one source that would have a nutrient breakdown for a majority of the organs so I could maintain some level of consistency. I used nutritional information from fitbit.com since I was able to find almost all of the organs there. The percentages listed are % daily value for a 2000-calorie diet.
