I make recipes that meet Animal-Based Paleolithic Ketogenic Diet macronutrient ratios. With each recipe, I attempt to get as close as possible to a 2:1 fat:protein ratio, however that is not always easy to do. If additional fat is required, I note that on the recipe.

For example, maybe the recipe makes four servings, and with each serving, you need to consume 2 tbsp of additional animal fat (ghee, tallow, etc.) to meet macronutrient ratios.

I usually eat the extra fat before I eat my meal. I do this for two reasons:

1. So I can fill up on fat first.

2. So I can enjoy my meal without anticipating needing to down spoonfuls of fat after. 🙂

Remember, it may take some time to adjust to eating the amount of fat this diet requires. Do your best with this, eat as much as you can stomach, and work your way up. As I mentioned before, you will likely feel the benefits before you hit optimal ratios.

Enjoy!
