My family’s experience with RiseWell
I had been hearing about RiseWell for quite some time before I pulled the trigger to try it earlier this year.
RiseWell sells fluoride-free toothpaste with ingredients safe enough to eat. Their toothpaste is made with hydroxyapatite, a naturally occurring mineral that makes up 97% of our tooth enamel and chemically binds to teeth acting as a protective shield. It also acts as a filler capable of repairing small holes and depressions on the enamel surface while naturally whitening.
After my first brush, my teeth had that slick and shiny feeling like they had just been cleaned by the dentist. I wasn’t expecting this so I was mildly shocked.
After a couple of weeks of use, my teeth held the slick and clean feeling and felt the cleanest they had been in years.
Shortly after I shared about my experience on my Instagram page, one of my followers brought up some potential concerns with hydroxyapatite. I went down a huge research rabbit hole. I’m not going to go into it here, but if you’d like to learn more, check out my “Oral health” highlight on Instagram.
After some deep dives and online searches, I concluded that I don’t love the idea of synthetic hydroxyapatite, mainly because the jury is out in regards to its long-term effects.
